Product Description
Though the practice of astrology is many centuries old, it is only perhaps once in a generation that a thoroughly new, totally original way of looking at the zodiac is discovered. The New Astrology is such a system.
For those convinced that there is nothing new under the sun–or the stars–Suzanne White offers a startling and provocative thesis: There are not 12 but 144 signs of the zodiac, each distinct, each unique, each vital to everyone’s quest for self-… More >>

In general, I am a pretty out there person, but this is way beyond my understanding. I do not believe this book is for anyone interested in horoscopes, but for someone who is wondering what Suzanne White does in her spare time. She does not focus upon anything that helps the reader in learning about this topic.

I spent 1 hour reading this book in the local bookstore. At first glance, it was very interesting because it combines Chinese and Western Astrology. After 10 minutes, I realized that the information supplied here is JUST LIKE that of a Daily Astrology Article in our local newspaper. It is vague and full of psychological interpretation. The more you use it the more wrong interpretations you will find. Its guesses about me are 90% wrong. I believe people like it because it is easy to use. You just open the book and find the Signs and Animals that match your date of birth. No charting is required! If you like this kind of book, you may also like “The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes” by Theodora Lau.
Western and Chinese Astrologies are not so skin-deep as described in this book. They use many methods that are more complicated than just the Sun signs and 12 Animal Signs. Besides, Chinese Astrology is very popular in the East because it is Predictive Astrology which provides quite reliable guesses about peoples’ finance, marriage, and so on. To do that you’ll need a good and detailed book on Chinese Astrology. I saved my money on this one.

Hopelessly derivative, this work is a pale imitation of the writings of the true pioneers of the New Astrology. Readers interested in primary source material may wish to consult “The Musings of the Gus” for the rise of syncretic astrology in the youth culture of the mid-1990’s.

OF course, one looks up one’s own configuration in such a book as this, and when I found mine, it was not applicable at all. Very shallow and “pop” astro in style. I’m a classical astrologer, and was looking to branch into Chinese, but this is not the book for the serious-minded who wants to learn the depths of astrology.

I’m a big fan of Suzanne White. I believe I’ve bought all the books she wrote. However, this book lacks something from Western Astrological point of view. I was born on June 21, 1963. And my caracter is nothing like Gemini. I’ve read somewhere else that I am Canser because on that paticular year, the time of the moon entering Canser was little different from the usual year. I wish I could ask Suzanne directly about this subject.
